SIA has be working hard at creating a new flight simulator for school districts to use in classrooms and aviation clubs. There is no cost to districts! They only need to have an aviation program or club either currently running or starting an aviation program.
The simulator has several major features to make it easy to get started. It’s based on Linux and X-Plane 11. The sim includes the computer, 50″ 4K monitor, yoke and power controls, rudder pedals, keyboard and mouse, all packaged and ready to fly. It’s fast too! 45 fps for you gaming and IT geeks.
SIA will be releasing how-to videos if you want to make your own as well as quick start guides for teachers and instructors.
The new simulator was demo’d at the WTEA conference held in Wisconsin Dells recently. Several teachers and students tried it out. All were impressed with it’s usability and performance. For more information on how to get this simulator in your school district or with your district sponsored aviation club please contact us!
This is such an awesome program! I’m glad I got to meet with you at WTEA last Thursday. I hope we can work together soon.
