Jace is taking the 2024 SIA ground school at the Reedsburg airport. We recently talking with Jace about his aviation journey. Here is what he had to say.
Why are you interested in aviation?
My love for aviation started when I was a younger kid. I remember standing in the yard, staring up at the sky at the small spec floating across the sky. It wasn’t until my sophomore year of high school that I figured out I could make a career of it. We had a career day at school after we were done with a statewide test. One of the careers that talked to our group was a pilot from Southwestern. He talked about his path in getting to the airlines and what his day to day schedule looks like. From that point on, I knew what I wanted to do
What are your long-term goals with aviation?
An airline pilot is definitely the path I’m going down. The goal is to be a Captain for a major airline, such as Delta or United. I plan to make a career out of it and be able to pass all of my knowledge down to younger generations. My goal is to make flying enjoyable for everyone on my flights
How has SIA helped you with your career search?
SIA has helped supply me with important information I need to know for my tests to become a pilot. They’ve opened my eyes to other careers in aviation and have allowed me to meet some great people. They can make a learning environment fun and entertaining, even when the material being taught isn’t easy.
