Hal Davis joined the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Aeronautics as the Airport Compliance Program Manager in September 2012. In this role, Hal is responsible for helping airports understand various state and federal rules and regulations. As part of this responsibility, Hal conducts regular inspections of all public-use airports. During these inspections, Hal often operates a drone to map the runway approach areas.

Hal holds a Bachelor’s degree in aviation and a Master’s in public administration with a concentration in aviation from University of Nebraska at Omaha. Prior to joining WisDOT, Hal completed internships with the Transportation Security Administration, Omaha Airport Authority, Appleton International Airport, and Dane County Regional Airport. Hal is a Private Pilot in addition to being a certificated Remote Pilot.
