How do I register for the classes?

Who is the class for?
Middle school, high school and college age students who will be turning 14 or older before March 1st, 2024.
Is there any cost?
No, absolutely free. Donations are always welcome though.
What materials will I need?
Pen and a notebook.  We will provide you with all of the printed materials, an E6B computer and plotter.
When do the classes start?
Saturday, January 6th 2024
When do the classes end?
Saturday, May 4th, 2024
What time do the classes start and how long do they run for?
9am on Saturdays for 2 hours
Where are the classes held?
Classes will be held at the Reedsburg Municipal Airport’s terminal building.  Please ask us for details.
What will I learn?
You will learn about the exciting and high paying careers available in aviation and how to pass the FAA Written Exam for earning your pilots license. A complete list of topics covered is available once you register for the classes.
What will I do in the classes?
The classes will follow the online course materials you will register for and fly a state of the art 180 degree flight simulator.  You will also take a flight in a real aircraft.  The classes are hands-on so we will be visiting several different types of aircraft and businesses on the field.  We occasionally have guest speakers, e.g. Air Traffic Controllers, Airline Transport Pilots, Flight Attendants and FAA officials.  Most of your time will be spent learning about all the facets of general aviation.
What will I achieve when the class is done?
You will receive your endorsement to take your FAA Written Exam and start your flight training.

Who is teaching the class?
Joe Canepa
Joe is a Certified Flight Instructor, Advanced Ground Instructor, Commercial Multi-Engine IFR Pilot with over 2000 hours of flight time.
What will I fly my demo flight in?
A Piper Twin Comanche, Cessna 150, Aeronca Chief, Cessna 172 or Piper Cherokee
Is there a limit to the number of students for the class?
Yes, we currently have room for 30 in-person students for the classes held at the Baraboo-Dells airport.  There is no limit to the number of online students however.
Can I take the class if I’ve already taken a previous class?
Yes, on a case by case basis.
What if I miss a class?
You can meet with your instructor either before or after a regular scheduled class for makeup work.
Will the class be available live online?
Yes, through Google Meet.

Online learning

Yes, through Google Meet.  Classes will be live-streamed every Saturday morning at 9am.   Additionally, students will have access to the online course material with hundreds of documents, instructional videos and quiz’s.
